Today, many will awaken with a fresh sense of inspiration. Why not you?

Today, many will open their eyes to the beauty that surrounds them. Why not you?

Today, many will choose to leave the ghost of yesterday behind and seize the immeasurable power of today. Why not you?

Today, many will break through the barriers of the past by looking at the blessings of the present. Why not you?

Today, for many the burden of self doubt and insecurity will be lifted by the security and confidence of empowerment. Why not you?

Today, many will rise above their believed limitations and make contact with their powerful innate strength. Why not you?

Today, many will choose to live in such a manner that they will be a positive role model for their children. Why not you?

Today, many will choose to free themselves from the personal imprisonment of their bad habits. Why not you?

Today, many will choose to live free of conditions and rules governing their own happiness. Why not you?

Today, many will find abundance in simplicity. Why not you?

Today, many will be confronted by difficult moral choices and they will choose to do what is right instead of what is beneficial. Why not you?

Today, many will decide to no longer sit back with a victim mentality, but to take charge of their lives and make positive changes. Why not you?

Today, many will take the action necessary to make a difference. Why not you?

Today, many will make the commitment to be a better mother, father, son, daughter, student, teacher, worker, boss, brother, sister, & so much more. Why not you?

Today is a new day!

Many will seize this day.

Many will live it to the fullest.

Why not you?

Do you know the legend of the Cherokee Indian youth's rite of passage?

His father takes him into the forest, blindfolds him and leaves him alone. He is required to sit on a stump the whole night and not remove the blindfold until the rays of the morning sun shine through it.He cannot cry out for help to anyone. Once he survives the night, he is a MAN. He cannot tell the other boys of this experience, because each lad must come into manhood on his own.

Somewhere in my early years, I came across the poetry of Edgar A. Guest, a British-born American who wrote volumes of heart-touching poetry and became known as the people’s poet. I remember this line from one of his poems: “there is some good in the worst of us…and some bad in the best of us”.

Whether something is possible or impossible for you depends more on what YOU do about it than on any other factor. Your persistent, focused action is what brings possibilities to life.

Happiness: a good bank account, a good cook and a good digestion.

— Jean Jacques Rousseau

It was one of those situations where you don’t know if someone is pulling your leg or not. “Are you serious,” I asked, laughing and shaking my head. It was too funny to be true. “A $7 bill,” I said, repeating what I thought I heard. “Surely that didn’t happen,” I was thinking. Yet, it was true.

There is no such thing as ‘goodbye', only the opportunity to say ‘hello' again!

- Author Unknown

Today was a "good museum day morning." Church school was interesting and engaging, as we discussed being inspired by prayer. And that lively discussion spilled over into the morning worship service. It was full of spirit and left us all upbeat as we prepared to leave the church and continue on with our day's activities. It continued to be a "good museum day" as I enjoyed my meal from Meta's, prepared for an upcoming Dale Carnegie class, watched the football playoffs and finished reading "The Big Five For Life, Leadership's Greatest Secret" by John Strelecky. He is the author of two other books I have enjoyed, "The Why Café" and "Life Safari."

One man with a conviction will overwhelm a hundred who have only opinions.

– Winston Churchill

Hillary Clinton found her voice in New Hampshire in a coffee shop the day before making a comeback on the campaign trail and winning the primary. The pundits, pollsters and commentators had counted her out and crowned Obama the winner, for good reason. He was ahead in the polls and had big “Mo” on his side, momentum. After all, he had proved to the American people by winning in Iowa that he was legit. Yes, he, a black man, could win the race for president.
